in Melbourne’s CBD are among artists collecting ratepayer funds for bizarre projects.

days in May. Ms Gleave said they would cart 1000 bricks in a van to sites including
Birrarung Marr and Federation Square, and spend from 7am to 3pm each day creating
and dismantling straight walls as a comment on labour and infrastructure. Other projects
to share $1.2 million of arts grants this year include: A CHARITY handed $14,000
so homeless people could produce a cookbook of their favourite recipes. A TAILOR
given $4000 to teach workmen how to create more fashionable safety vests. A TOUR
guide awarded $8000 to arrange city trips with participants wearing periscopes.
